For this project, Andrea and I chose to work together and discussed that we will be picking Gentle Monster as our
brand to do a case study on. Gentle Monster is known for its bold and artistic eyewear, having undergone a distinctive rebranding that blends fashion, art, and technology in a unique way.
REFLECTION
Experience
Overall, this research experience helped me gain a deeper understanding of Gentle Monster. I’ve always liked the brand, but this was the first time I truly explored the vision behind it. Everything I learned made me appreciate how intentional their brand is from the immersive store designs to the way they present their eyewear as part of a larger artistic experience. It’s clear that Gentle Monster isn’t just about selling glasses; they want customers to feel something unique the moment they step into their space.
Observation
I observed that Gentle Monster places strong emphasis on creating an immersive brand experience, not just selling products. Their stores reflect the same artistic and experimental energy found in their campaigns, showing how consistent and intentional their branding is. This made me realize how important it is for a brand to connect with customers beyond just the product.
Findings
I found that Gentle Monster goes beyond being just an eyewear brand their focus on immersive experiences and artistic expression plays a big role in shaping how people connect with the brand. Their unique approach to store design and branding creates a strong emotional and visual impact on customers.
